IP Services: Route Map to the Future

With the growth of IP traffic and applications, new multiservice capabilities are arising that offer new revenue sources for service providers. The potential of voice over IP, data and VPNs can be fully tapped only if the migration from circuit-switched to packet-based networks meets the unique service needs of each of the service provider's customers. Several other obstacles lie in the path of realizing the business potential from new IP service possibilities. Recognizing and overcoming these challenges will remain critical for service providers in the upcoming years, as the winners will be those who quickly adapt to meet this burgeoning market of new service opportunities.
