Optical Networks Forum

The Optical Networks Forum @ SUPERnet examines the challenges and progress in shattering the last-mile barrier to high-speed broadband services in the access network. The lineup of focused seminar sessions examines networking alternatives and solutions for fiber-based network architectures, as well as case studies to date, keys to success, and alternative competing technologies.

As the optical access network is deployed, management of this infrastructure is becoming paramount. The Optical Networks Forum also looks at such issues as spectrum management in next-generation optical architectures, distributed intelligence, provisioning, fault management, standards, modeling tools, interoperability challenges, performance monitoring and reporting, and other challenges for service providers.

In addition to fundamentals education, the Optical Networks Forum also examines the future trends and growth areas for optical networks going forward. Key enabling technologies such as PONs, optical Ethernet, 40-Gbps systems, tuneable lasers, MEMs, free-space optics and other applications are discussed by key industry leaders. Don't miss this opportunity to see the future of fiber networking within the full context of the broadband marketplace.
