Beyond Messaging: Next-Generation Wireless Services

Just as the Web followed e-mail as a driving application for on-line services, wireless messaging services will be followed by more media-rich applications. While it is difficult to project which future applications will prove most successful, it is necessary to begin planning for the network resources needed to support a variety of possibilities. Network engineers must anticipate a broad range of user scenarios as they plan to deploy the next generation of wireless services.

  • Technology and Business Issues
  • Active Resource Control
  • Location-Based Services and Wireless Telematics
  • User Interface Design for Wireless Applications

CHAIRPERSON:

Robert Braudes, Chief Architect, Comverse Network Systems

SPEAKERS:

Leonard Mygatt, Executive Vice President, Summus Limited

Robert Sanchez, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, inCode Telecom Group, has more than 20 years of experience primarily in wireless engineering and has worked at Qualcomm, TRW Military Electronics, and General Dynamics.

Wil Wilbrink, Chief Solutions Architect, MapInfo Corporation, has 18 years of complex systems research development experience. He has been with MapInfo Corporation for four years and is one of the company's lead Java technology developers.
