Securing the Wireless Network Core

Guarding against accidental and deliberate service disruptions has always been a concern for wireless network operators. Securing customer traffic has become increasingly important, both for traditional wireless voice and emerging wireless data services. Just as the desire to offer advanced wireless services will drive the evolution of core network capabilities, so too will it drive the need for advanced security technologies. This need for security begins at the wireless device and extends to the network core.

  • Securing Wireless Devices in Open Environments
  • The Critical First Hop for Wireless Security
  • Network Security for a Wireless Infrastructure

CHAIRPERSON and SPEAKER:

Larry Bullock, Network Security Consultant, Professional Services, DataCom Solutions, Ericsson, provides corporate network and security consulting, design, and implementation for telecommunications infrastructures.

SPEAKERS:

Paul Goransson, President and Founder, Meetinghouse, served as president of Meetinghouse and Qosnetics until the 1999 acquisition of Qosnetics by Hewlett-Packard, at which point he held a senior management role within HP and then its subsidiary Agilent Technologies.

David Kennerley, Security Technology Strategy and Planning Manager, Motorola, is responsible for developing strategies and roadmaps as well as driving customer inputs into Motorola's strategies for security-related technologies, specifically as they relate to Motorola wireless devices.
