The Broadband DSL World Forum 2002, held 2831 October in Berlin, Germany, unified the global communications industry, bringing together nearly 1,000 industry professionals from more than 50 service-provider companies and delegates from 55 different countries around the world as proof of new global interest in and support for expansive broadband deployment.
Produced by the International Engineering Consortium (IEC), the World Forum was the gathering place for esteemed industry leaders focused on broadband technology, applications, services, and content. The four-day comprehensive educational program featured sessions conducted by more than 100 expert speakers from around the world, and a sold-out technology exhibition focused on leading advances.
The success of the 2002 conference has led to expansion of the 2003 program to include optical technologies and access networks; Ethernet advances; broadband mobile and fixed wireless; content and applications; next-generation services; and applications for broadband operators.
The Broadband World Forum 2003 will take place 811 September at the Novotel London West, London, and will feature Dr. Paul Reynolds, BT board member and chief executive officer, BT Wholesale, British Telecom, as the overall conference chairperson, and British Telecom as the Official Sponsor organization for the event.
Additionally, the concurrent exhibition, which was 90% larger this year, will double in size again next year. Strong growth is expected in both the number of exhibiting companies and emerging technologies represented.
