Future of Broadband Panel

This panel of industry leaders will examine the drivers, trends, and opportunities behind the development of broadband networks. What is the state of the enabling technology alternatives? What is the likely deployment scenario for those options that are likely to spell success for carriers? What will the killer application(s) be in the emerging broadband world? How far can fiber penetrate the local loop, and what are its prospects in comparison to other broadband access alternatives? Join us for this lively roundtable discussion.

CHAIRPERSON

Thomas W. Myers, Founder and Chief Operating Officer, TeraBurst, has held many executive and engineering leadership positions with optical communications systems companies, including Tektronix Inc. and Greco Systems. In addition, he has had a distinguished career in the video, computer, and disk-drive industries. Mr. Myers earned industry recognition with awards such as SUPERCOMM's SuperQuest "Most Innovative Technology," an Emmy Award for technical achievement, and multiple broadcast television awards for post-production product of the year. He has registered four patents, filed six others, and published 17 articles on optical communications and two books on engineering principles.
