Optical Technologies, Access, and Architectures Forum

Emerging developments in optical systems and components promise to make advanced data services a feasible reality for service providers and end users. Turnable lasers, 3D MEMS, ultraDWDM, advanced forward-error correction, free-space optics, Raman amplifiers, and other advances are designed to take the capacity and flexibility of optical networks to new heights. As we begin to think of switches and routers operating at OC-768 and beyond, it's time to retool our conception of network design, management, and topology.

The Optical Technologies, Access, and Architectures Forum at NCF-InfoVision 2001 focuses on the services, technology advances, and trends in optical network deployments. It examines the changing business modes and revenue streams enabled by the next-generation optical infrastructure, as well as offering practical insights and perspectives on managing this emerging architecture. Attendees will be treated to market forecasts, technology overviews, and research updates that will give them an invaluable glimpse into the potential of this explosive segment of the communications industry.
