IEC Hosts BT, France Telecom, KT and Telstra in Exclusive Panel — "An International CTO Perspective" at CTIA Wireless Tomorrow

International Engineering Consortium (IEC) President John Janowiak chairs a panel on fixed-mobile convergence with senior-level executives and high-technology experts from four of the world's most prominent and influential carriers

CHICAGO – April 1, 2008 – IEC President John Janowiak will chair a panel at CTIA WIRELESS 2008 tomorrow entitled "Fixed-Mobile Convergence: An International CTO Perspective." Speakers include Telstra Chief Technology Officer Mr. Hugh Bradlow; BT's senior vice president of technology and innovation, Mr. Jean-Marc Frangos; vice president of technology development of Orange Lab at the France Telecom Group, Mr. Gabriel Sidhom; and Mr. Jong-Lok Yoon, senior executive vice president of the growing business group at KT. The session takes place at 11 a.m. in room N103 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"We're pleased to bring some of the IEC's world-class educational programming to CTIA WIRELESS 2008," commented Mr. Janowiak. "Our initiatives abroad bring a greater focus on fixed-mobile convergence to the CTIA Educational Program and we're pleased to host our first panel at CTIA WIRELESS 2008 tomorrow."

Open to all CTIA WIRELESS 2008 attendees, the IEC's panel of chief technology officers from leading European and Asian international service providers will tackle the issues of the convergence of fixed and mobile networks, the implications this convergence has for network operators and future challenges and plans to bring innovative FMC services to the marketplace.

"CTIA will continue to provide a home, platform and venue for the wireline community," said Mr. Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director of CTIA WIRELESS. "Our alliance with the IEC represents the migration to a new way of communicating as the wireless, telecom, Internet and cable industries converge. CTIA WIRELESS is one of the few shows that bring these industries together — where true convergence and change is happening."

Mr. Janowiak's panel will address how convergence has created a more challenging and complex competitive landscape and how fixed-mobile convergence can create new value for operators and their customers, as well as minimizing operational costs.

The distinguished panel will share their experiences and vision and will discuss the future challenges in capitalizing on the fixed-mobile convergent world.
